Transaxle Range Switch Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the battery component.
  3. Remove the fresh-air duct, air cleaner component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS] .)
  4. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector.
  5. Remove the transaxle range switch.

  6. Shift the transaxle into N position.
  7. Install the transaxle range switch on the manual lever shaft.
  8. Hand tighten the two mounting bolts.
  9. Use the SST  to align the switch on the shaft and case.
  10. Tighten the two mounting bolts.

    Tightening Torque 

    11-13 N.m {112-133 kgf.cm, 97-115 in.lbf}

  11. Connect the transaxle range switch connector.
  12. Install the fresh-air duct, air cleaner component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS] .)
  13. Install the battery component.
  14. Connect the negative battery cable.
