Transaxle Tester Instruction: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda 626. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The transaxle tester allows a technician to operate the electrical portion of the transaxle independent of the vehicle electronics to determine specific transaxle concerns. Use of the transaxle tester is divided into five steps.

  1. Preliminary testing and diagnosis.
  2. Installing the transaxle tester.
  3. Static testing-engine OFF.
  4. Dynamic testing-engine running.
  5. Removing the transaxle tester and clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
