Test K: Theft Indicator Inoperative

- Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, select instrument cluster WARNING LAMPS AND CHIME active command. Trigger ALL LAMPS active command and observe THEFT indicator. If THEFT indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If THEFT indicator illuminates, perform RETRIEVING CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Repair as necessary.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect for corrosion or pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Operate system and verify if concern still exists. If concern still exists, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If concern does not exist, system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
