Test I: Fuel Warning Indicator Always/Never On (DTC B1202 & B1204)

- Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, perform instrument cluster self-test. If no DTCs are retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B1202 or B1204 is retrieved, perform TEST D: INCORRECT FUEL GAUGE INDICATION (DTC B1202 & B1204) .
- Using NGS tester, select instrument cluster WARNING LAMPS AND CHIME active command. Trigger ALL LAMPS active command and observe low fuel warning indicator. If low fuel warning indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If low fuel warning indicator illuminates, perform TEST D: INCORRECT FUEL GAUGE INDICATION (DTC B1202 & B1204) .
- Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect for corrosion or pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Operate system and verify if concern still exists. If concern still exists, replace instrument cluster. See If concern does not exist, system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
