Rear Oil Seal Replacement

  1. Remove the automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Remove the drive plate. (See DRIVE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Cut the oil seal lip using a razor knife.
  4. Remove the rear oil seal using a screwdriver as shown.

  5. Install the rear oil with part A of the SST  303-178 (49 UN01 070) and the SST  303-384 (49 UN30 3384).

  6. Install the studs of the SST  303-384 (49 UN30 3384) as indicated in the figure.

  7. Apply clean engine oil to the oil seal.
  8. Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.
  9. Install part A of the SST  303-178 (UN01 070) and compress the oil seal with the nuts of the SST  303-384 (49 UN30 3384).
  10. Install the drive plate. (See DRIVE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  11. Install the automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
