Overdrive-Front Band: B-Series

Raise and support vehicle. Remove shifter cable and transmission range sensor. Remove and discard overdrive-front band lock nut. Using torque wrench, tighten overdrive-front band adjustment screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Back off overdrive-front band adjustment screw exactly 2 turns, and hold position. Apply petroleum jelly to locknut seal, and install NEW overdrive-front band locknut. While holding overdrive-front band adjustment screw stationary, tighten overdrive-front band lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Fig 1. Install shifter cable and transmission range sensor. Lower vehicle.
