Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (HLA)

  1. When HLA is removed from engine, store HLA in upright position, submerged in clean engine oil. Inspect friction surface of HLA for wear and replace as necessary.
  2. Measure HLA outside diameter. Measure HLA bore diameter in cylinder block. Ensure clearance is within specification. See HYDRAULIC LASH ADJUSTERS  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
