Test 8: No Operation In High Blower Speed Setting

  1. Turn ignition on. Turn function selector switch to FLOOR position. Set blower motor speed to maximum. If blower motor operates at maximum speed, cycle blower motor switch from high to low several times. If blower motor operates properly, system is okay at this time. If blower motor does not operate in high speed every time, replace blower motor switch. If blower motor does not operate in high speed at all, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect blower motor 4-pin harness connector G294b. Measure resistance between ground and blower motor switch harness connector G294b terminal No. 2 (Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open or high resistance in Black wire.
  3. Disconnect blower motor resistor 4-pin harness connector G293. Measure resistance of Orange/Black wire between blower motor resistor harness connector G293 terminal No. 3 and blower motor switch harness connector G294b terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace blower motor resistor. Recheck system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open or high resistance in Orange/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
