CIII 4.0L Pump Removal

  1. Remove the engine cooling fan.
  2. Remove the reservoir.
  3. Loosen the power steering pump pulley bolts.

  4. Remove the drive belt.
  5. Remove the power steering pump pulley.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the power steering pump pulley.

  6. Disconnect the power steering return line hose at the power steering fluid reservoir.
    1. Allow the system to drain.

  7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.

  8. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
    1. Compress and move the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose clamp.
    2. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.

  9. Remove the power steering pump.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the power steering pump.
