Spindle Removal - 4X2

- Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the front disc brake rotor shield. See FRONT BRAKE ROTOR REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Use suitable jack to support the front suspension lower arm.
- Remove the upper shock absorber nut/washer assembly and bushing. See Figure .
- Remove the upper ball joint retaining nut and pinch bolt. See Figure .
- Separate the ball joint from the front wheel spindle. See Figure .
- Remove the front shock absorber.
- Remove the two nuts.
- Remove the front shock absorber. See Figure .
- Remove the tie rod castellated nut.
- Remove the cotter pin.
- Remove the castellated nut.
- Use Pitman Arm Puller or equivalent to separate the tie rod end from the front wheel spindle.
- Use a coil spring compressor or equivalent to compress the coil spring. See Figure .
- Remove the lower ball joint castellated nut.
- Remove the cotter pin.
- Remove the castellated nut. See Figure .
- Use the Pitman Arm Puller or equivalent to separate the lower ball joint from the front wheel spindle. See Figure .
- Remove the front wheel spindle.
