Lower Arm Removal - 4x4

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2004 Mazda B4000, 2004 Mazda B3000, 2004 Mazda B2300, 2003 Mazda B4000, and 2003 Mazda B3000. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
Remove the stabilizer bar link nut, washer and bushing from the front suspension lower arm.

Remove the front shock lower mounting nuts.

Remove the torsion bar. See TORSION BAR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 4X4.
Remove the lower ball joint castellated nut.
1. Remove the cotter pin.
2. Remove the castellated nut.

CAUTION: Support the front suspension arm bushing joint, axle shaft and front wheel knuckle before separating the front wheel knuckle from the front suspension lower arm. Failure to do so can cause damage to the front axle shaft assembly.
Using the Pitman Arm Puller or equivalent, separate the front wheel knuckle from the front suspension lower arm.

Remove the front suspension lower arm.
1. Remove the front suspension lower arm.
2. Remove the two nuts and bolts.
