Clip Installation Note

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mazda 6 and 2003 Mazda 6. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install a new clip onto the intermediate shaft with the opening facing upward. Ensure that the diameter of the clip does not exceed the specification on installation. Correct outer diameter specification is 1.26-1.31" (32.0-33.2 mm).
  2. After installation, measure the outer diameter. If it exceeds the specification, repeat step  1 using a new clip.
