Outer Ring Assembly Note

- Fill the outer ring and boot (transaxle side) with the specified grease from a tube, not by hand. Use the specified grease supplied in the boot kit. The correct grease amount is 4.24-4.94 oz. (0.125-0.146 L).
- Align the marks, and install the outer ring onto the shaft.
- Install a new clip.
- Install the boot.
- Set the axle shaft to the standard length. See AXLE SHAFT STANDARD LENGTH table.
- Release any trapped air from the boots by carefully lifting up the small end of each boot with a cloth wrapped screwdriver. See Figure
.CAUTION: Be careful not to allow the grease to leak. Do not damage the boot.
- Verify that the axle shaft length is within the specification. See AXLE SHAFT STANDARD LENGTH
