Intermediate Shaft: Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten connectors to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Clip Installation Note - Install a new clip onto the intermediate shaft with the opening facing upward. See Fig 1 .
Intermediate Shaft Installation Note
- Install the intermediate shaft with the end gap of the new clip facing upward.NOTE: Letters in parenthesis refer to letters in illustration.
- Tighten the bolts (A), then tighten the bolt (B). See Fig 2 . Tighten the bolts to specification, see TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Right Axle Shaft and Axle Installation Note
- Push the axle shaft into the intermediate shaft.
- After installation, pull the front hub outward to verify that the axle shaft is securely held by the clip.
