Intermediate Shaft: Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten connectors to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

Clip Installation Note  - Install a new clip onto the intermediate shaft with the opening facing upward. See Fig 1 .

Intermediate Shaft Installation Note

  1. Install the intermediate shaft with the end gap of the new clip facing upward.
    NOTE: Letters in parenthesis refer to letters in illustration.
  2. Tighten the bolts (A), then tighten the bolt (B). See Fig 2 . Tighten the bolts to specification, see TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

Right Axle Shaft and Axle Installation Note

  1. Push the axle shaft into the intermediate shaft.
  2. After installation, pull the front hub outward to verify that the axle shaft is securely held by the clip.
