Intermediate Shaft: Reassembly

Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Dust Seal (Right Side) Assembly Note  - Apply grease to a new dust seal lip. Install the new right side dust seal using the Handle (49-G030-797) and the Dust Boot Installer (49-B025-004). See Fig 1 .

Bearing Assembly Note  - Install the new bearing using the Handle (49-G030-797), the Support Block (49-H034-201) and the Attachment (49-F027-005). See Fig 2 .

Dust Seal (Left Side) Assembly Note  - Install the new left side dust seal using a steel plate and the Bearing Installer (49-W027-003) and the Support Block (49-H034-201). See Fig 3 .

Intermediate Shaft Assembly Note  Assemble the intermediate shaft using a press and the Support Block (49-H034-201). See Fig 4 .

Dust Cover Assembly Note

1. Mark the shaft as shown in the illustration. See Fig 5 . The correct length as shown is 3.49-3.52" (88.5-89.5 mm).
2. Press in the dust cover to the marked position by using a steel plate and the Dust Cover Installer (49-B025-005). See Fig 6 .
3. Verify that length (L) is within the specification.
