Protege 2.0L

Disconnect CMP sensor harness connector. CMP sensor is located in timing belt cover, in upper front of engine. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between component terminals. Resistance should be 950-1250 ohms. Replace as needed. If sensor is okay, check for open or short circuit in Blue wire between CMP sensor 2-pin harness connector and PCM harness connector terminal No. 85. Repair as necessary.
