Inspection (MPV, Protege, Protege5 & 626)

Disconnect TP sensor connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals "A" and "C" of TP sensor terminals. If resistance is not as specified, replace TP sensor. See TP SENSOR RESISTANCE (MPV, PROTEGE, PROTEGE5 & 626)  table.

2.5L (4) 2500-5000
(1) With throttle closed.
(2) Between terminals "A" and "C". See Fig 1 .
(3) On MPV, terminals "A" and "C" are referred to as terminals No. 1 & 3.
(4) Between terminals "A" and "B". See Fig 1
