Cylinder Head - RH: Removal
- Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Remove the coolant bypass tube. Refer to BYPASS TUBE .
- Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE TUBE .
- Remove the RH camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFTS - RH .
- Remove the camshaft followers.
- Remove the hydraulic lash adjusters.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the six nuts from the RH exhaust manifold.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the bolts in the sequence shown and remove the cylinder head.
- Discard the gasket and the bolts.
CAUTION:
The camshaft followers must be installed in their original positions.
CAUTION:
The hydraulic lash adjusters must be installed in their original position.
NOTE:
The cylinder head bolts must be replaced with new bolts. They are torque-to-yield designed and cannot be reused.
