Brake Master Cylinder: Disassembly

  1. Remove the brake master cylinder. See BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Clean the outside of the brake master cylinder.
  3. Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove the seals. See Fig 2 .
  5. Remove the snap ring. See Fig 3 .
  6. Remove the primary and secondary piston. See Fig 4 .
    NOTE: If the brake master cylinder bore is damaged, a new brake master cylinder must be installed.
  7. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean and inspect the brake master cylinder bore for damage.
