Brake System Leak Check

NOTE: Numbers in parenthesis refer to numbers in illustration.
  1. Check the brake fluid level. See Fig 1 . If the fluid level is below the MIN line on the brake master cylinder reservoir add the necessary amount of DOT 3 brake fluid.
  2. Using the illustration for a reference, inspect the (1) brake line fittings and the (2) brake master cylinder reservoir for fluid leaks. See Fig 2 .
  3. Inspect the brake lines and hoses for fluid leaks.
  4. Inspect the rear wheel cylinders for leaks.
  5. Inspect the front disc brake calipers for leaks.
  6. If a hydraulic leak is detected, repair or install a new component.
