Temperature Gauge Test

NOTE: After changing checker resistance value, allow one minute for needle to stabilize.
  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect battery positive voltage to terminal 2G (Black/Yellow wire) and ground terminal 2I (Brown/Red wire) of instrument cluster. See Fig 1 . Connect Red wire of Checker (49-N088-0A0) to terminal 2E (Green wire) of instrument cluster. Connect checker Black wire to ground.
  2. Set checker to specified resistance value. See TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE  table. If temperature gauge needle does not rest at specified position for each resistance value setting, replace temperature gauge.

Checker Resistance Setting Needle Position
153 Ohms (1) Cold
19 Ohms (2) Hot
(1) 217 ohms in cold regions.
(2) 16.2 ohms in cold regions.
