DTC 08: TNS Relay On/Off Signal

Turn headlight switch to TNS position. If LCD indication is ON, go to next step. If LCD indication is OFF, remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector No. 1 terminal 1E and ground. See Figure . If battery voltage is present, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage is not present, check TNS relay, wiring harness and wiring harness connections from battery to TNS relay and instrument cluster. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. Retest system.
Turn headlight switch to OFF position. If LCD indication is ON, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector No. 1 terminal 1E and ground. See Figure . If voltage is zero volts, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is present, check TNS relay, and wiring harness from battery to TNS relay and instrument cluster. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. Retest system. If LCD indication is OFF, input signal to instrument cluster is okay.
