Wheel Bearing Play

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. Position dial indicator against wheel hub. Push and pull wheel hub by hand in axial direction, and measure wheel bearing play. Bearing play should be .002" (.05 mm). If bearing play exceeds specification, replace and tighten lock nut. Repeat test. If bearing play still exceeds specification, replace wheel bearing.
