Removal & Installation (MX-5 Miata)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove radio service hole covers by inserting small flat-bladed screwdriver, wrapped in tape so as not to scratch trim panels, into slot. See Fig 1. Pry up and pull off service hole covers being careful so as not to break posts off. Install Radio Removal Tool (49 UN01 050) into radio unit with beveled side facing inward. See Fig 2. To remove radio, pull outward and forward on radio removal tool. Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna. Set radio aside.
- Reach into radio opening for access to hazard switch. Press hooks on hazard switch to release from trim panel. Disconnect electrical connector from hazard switch and remove from trim panel. To install, reverse removal procedure.
