Door Ajar Warning Light Stays On With All Doors Closed
- Remove driver's front scuff plate. Remove driver's kick panel. Remove CPU from joint box. Turn ignition on. If door ajar warning light illuminates, go to step 4). If door ajar warning light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Turn ignition to LOCK position. Open any door. Check for continuity between ground and joint box terminal 1I. See Figure . If continuity exists, replace CPU. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Remove door switch. Inspect door switch. See POWER DOOR LOCKS/KEYLESS ENTRY article. If door switch is okay, repair wiring between CPU and door switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If door switch is bad, replace door switch.
- Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity between ground and joint box terminal 1E. If continuity exists, repair wiring between instrument cluster and CPU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If continuity does not exist, replace Instrument Cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
