All Meters & Gauges Are Inoperative

  1. Check METER fuse (10-amp). If METER fuse is okay, go to next step. If METER fuse is blown, repair wiring and replace fuse.
  2. Check ROOM fuse (15-amp). If ROOM fuse is okay, go to next step. If ROOM fuse is blown, repair wiring and replace fuse.
  3. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector No. 2 terminal 2K. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair wiring between ROOM (15-amp) fuse and instrument cluster.

  4. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector No. 3 terminal 3N. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair wiring between METER (10-amp) fuse and instrument cluster.
  5. Turn ignition off. Check for continuity between ground and instrument cluster harness connector No. 2 terminal 2B. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair wiring between ground and instrument cluster.
NOTE: The remaining steps in this trouble shooting procedure test at cluster connectors, NOT harness connectors.

  6. Disconnect printed circuit connector. Check for continuity between instrument cluster connector No. 2 terminal 2K and Instrument Cluster connector terminal 4B. See Fig 2 . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace Instrument Cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  7. Check for continuity between instrument cluster connector No. 3 terminal 3N and Instrument Cluster connector terminal 4A. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace Instrument Cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  8. Check for continuity between instrument cluster connector No. 2 terminal 2B and Instrument Cluster connector terminal 4H. See Fig 2 . If continuity exists, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity does not exist, replace Instrument Cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
