DTC 22 - Fuel Remaining Amount Input Signal

  1. Check LCD indication. If LCD indication is 000 or 255, check fuel sending unit and wiring between instrument cluster and fuel sending unit. If LCD indication is 001-254, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect fuel pump connector. Connect Mazda Fuel and Thermometer Checker Red lead to fuel pump connector terminal "B" and Black lead to ground. See Figure . Set checker to 10 ohms. If LCD indication is 027-032, go to next step. If LCD indication is not 027-032, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Set checker to 55 ohms. If LCD indication is 105-111, go to next step. If LCD indication is not 105-111, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Set checker to 100 ohms. If LCD indication is 143-149, instrument cluster is okay. If LCD indication is not 143-149, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
