Removal & Installation (Protege)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine coolant. Remove upper seal board. See Fig 1
. Push clips downward by using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver to remove radiator grille. Remove clips from body and remove radiator grill. Remove safety lever and radiator hose. See Fig 2
.
- On models with A/T, remove transmission oil lines. Unbolt cooling fan and move cooing fan to engine side for easy removal of radiator. Remove radiator and remove cooling fan. Remove cooling fan blade and motor. See Fig 3
.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Ensure cooling fan motor operates smoothly.
