Removal & Installation (Protege)
- Hydraulic unit is located on left side of engine compartment. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly and air duct hose. Remove battery and battery holder. Using flare nut wrench, disconnect brakelines from hydraulic unit. Disconnect hydraulic unit electrical connectors. Remove hydraulic unit mounting nuts. Remove ABS hydraulic unit.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Brakeline fittings are color coded. Ensure brakelines are installed properly. See Fig 1
. Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Add fluid and bleed air from system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM
