Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Set front wheels in straight-ahead position. Disconnect negative battery cable. On models without air bag, remove horn pad and go to next step. On models with air bag, disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Remove air bag module.
  2. On all models, mark steering wheel and shaft for reassembly reference. Remove steering wheel nut. Using appropriate puller, remove steering wheel.
