Removal & Installation (MX-3)

Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Remove air bag module. Remove steering wheel. Remove steering column upper cover. SeeFigure . Remove meter hood. Remove instrument cluster mounting screws. On V6, remove instrument cluster and disconnect wiring harness connectors. On 4-cylinder, disconnect speedometer cable from transaxle. Pull out instrument cluster. Disconnect speedometer cable and wiring harness connectors from instrument cluster. Remove instrument cluster.
