Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (HLA): Installation

  1. Pour engine oil into oil reservoir in rocker arm. Apply engine oil to HLA. Install HLA in rocker arm, being careful to not damage "O" ring during installation.
    NOTE: Intake rocker arm shaft has a Yellow identification mark, and exhaust rocker arm shaft has a Pink identification mark. Ensure identification marks face upward.
  2. Assemble rocker arms to original location on rocker arm shafts. Install rocker arm shaft assemblies to cylinder head. Tighten rocker arm shaft bolts to specification in sequence. See Figure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
