B2600i 4WD, MX-6 & 626

- Remove center console. Loosen lock bolt and lock nuts "A" and "B" on gearshift assembly. See Fig 1 . Move gearshift lever to "P" position. Ensure transaxle lever is in "P" position. Tighten lock bolt to 71-97 INCH lbs. (8-11 N.m).
- Turn lock nut "A" by hand until lock nut "A" touches spacer lightly. Tighten lock nut "B" to 71-97 INCH lbs. (8-11 N.m). Ensure a click is heard in each range when shifting from "P" through "L" positions. Ensure starter will only operate in "P" and "N" positions.
- For B2600i 4WD, measure clearance between guide plate and guide pin in "P" position. See Figure . Repeat procedure in "N" and "D" positions. Front side clearance should be .039" (1.00 mm). Rear side clearance should be .020" (0.50 mm). Align indicator cover with selector lever.
- On all models, ensure position of gearshift lever and indicator correspond with each other. Ensure lock button returns after it has been depressed. Ensure gearshift lever operates smoothly when engaged in all positions.
