MX-6, Protege, 323 & 626

- Remove left splash shield, near left front tire. Remove lower pressure port plug. Install oil pressure gauge to port. See Fig 1.
- Move gearshift lever to "P" position. Start engine, and warm it to normal operating temperature. Ensure engine is at normal idle speed. Check throttle pressure. See THROTTLE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE. If pressure is not within specification, adjust throttle cable.THROTTLE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS
Application psi (kg/cm2 ) MX-6, Protege 4WD & 626 63-66 (4.4-4.6) Protege 2WD & 323 58-61 (4.1-4.3) - With engine running, loosen adjustment nut. Adjust throttle cable until oil pressure reading is within specification. See Fig 2 or Fig 3.
- Tighten throttle cable adjustment nut when pressure is within specification. Turn engine off. Remove oil pressure gauge. Install pressure port plug, and tighten to 44-89 INCH lbs. (5-10 N.m). Install left splash shield.
