Protege & 323

  1. Remove center console. Place gearshift lever in "P" position. Loosen selector cable mounting bolts. See Fig 1. Push selector lever against "P" range, and hold in position.
  2. Tighten selector shift cable mounting bolts. Ensure starter operates in "P" and "N" positions only. Ensure position of gearshift lever and indicator correspond with each other.
  3. Ensure lock button returns after it has been depressed. Ensure gearshift lever operates smoothly when engaged in all positions. Install center console.
