- Move gearshift lever to "P" position. Remove gearshift cover. Loosen lock nuts "A" and "B", and ensure transmission is in "P" position by moving manual shaft. See Fig 1. Using a feeler gauge, adjust clearance between adjust lever and lock nut "A" to .039" (1.0 mm).
- Tighten lock nut "B" to 69-95 INCH lbs. (8-11 N.m). Measure clearance between guide plate and guide pin in "P" position. See Fig 2. Repeat procedure in "N" and "D" positions. Front side clearance should be approximately .039" (1.0 mm) and rear side should be approximately .020" (0.5 mm). Align indicator cover with selector lever.
