AIR BAG Warning Light Does Not Come On
- Check fuses identified in FUSE LOCATION table. Replace blown fuses. If fuses are okay, go to next step.FUSE LOCATION
Fuse Location ABS (10-Amp) Under Dash Fuse Box Engine (10-Amp) Under Dash Fuse Box FUEL INJ (30-Amp) Engine Compartment Fuse Box - Remove instrument cluster. Remove and inspect AIR BAG warning light bulb. If bulb is not burnt, go to next step. If bulb is burnt, replace bulb. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
- Turn ignition on. Wait 4-8 seconds. Using a DVOM, measure voltage on instrument cluster connector terminal 3D. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage is present, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
- Cancel radio anti-theft function. See CANCELING & ACTIVATING RADIO ANTI-THEFT under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- With Short Circuit Connectors (49-H066-004) connected to diagnostic module connectors, using a DVOM, check for continuity between diagnostic module connector terminal 2A and instrument cluster connector terminal 3E. See Fig 2 . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, replace wiring harness. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
- Check for continuity between diagnostic module connector terminal 2C and instrument cluster connector terminal 3D. See Fig 2 . If continuity is present, replace diagnostic module. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If continuity is not present, replace wiring harness. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
