AIR BAG Warning Light Flashes 4 Times

  1. Cancel radio anti-theft function. See CANCELING & ACTIVATING RADIO ANTI-THEFT  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. With Short Circuit Connectors (49-H066-004) connected to diagnostic module connectors, using a DVOM, check for continuity between diagnostic module connector terminals 1J and 2L. See Figure . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, go to step 6).
  3. Check for continuity between diagnostic module connector terminals 1L and 2K. See Figure . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, go to step 6).
  4. Check for continuity between diagnostic module connector terminals 2L and 2K. See Figure . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, go to step 6).
  5. Check for continuity between diagnostic module connector terminal 2L and ground, and terminal 2K and ground. See Figure . If continuity is present, replace diagnostic module. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . If continuity is not present, go to next step.
  6. Disconnect S-sensor connector. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between S-sensor connector (sensor side) terminals "A" and "B". See Fig 1 . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, replace S-sensor. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
  7. Check continuity between S-sensor connector (sensor side) terminals "C" and "D". See Fig 1 . If continuity is present, replace wiring harness. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . If continuity is not present, replace S-sensor. Perform TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
