Hydraulic Unit (Motor Test)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Mazda MX-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect hydraulic unit 2-pin connector. Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector terminals (Red/Yellow wire and Black wire). Resistance should not be greater than one ohm.
  2. If resistance is not as specified, replace hydraulic unit. If resistance is as specified, verify motor operates when applying 12 volts to hydraulic unit 2-pin connector terminals (Red/Yellow wire and Black wire). Replace hydraulic unit if motor does not operate.
