Speed Sensor Test

  1. Raise and support drive axle so that wheels can be turned by hand. Disconnect the control unit wire connector. Control unit on RX7 is located in rear of luggage compartment. Control unit on 929 is located under right rear seat. Connect ohmmeter between terminal "H" of the wire connector and ground. See Fig 1 .

  2. Ohmmeter should oscillate continuity and non-continuity as the wheels are manually rotated. If no continuity registers, inspect wire harness for short or open circuit. If wire harness is okay, replace speed sensor and retest system.
