Rear Disc Brake Caliper (Except 929): Reassembly

  1. Assemble caliper in reverse order of disassembly. Use new piston and dust seals. Three different kinds of grease included with seal kit must be used. Use White grease on "O" ring. Apply Red grease on piston seal.
  2. Apply Orange grease on guide pins, boots, dust seal, adjuster spindle, connecting link and spindle lever. Reverse disassembly procedures. Align stopper pins with holes of caliper housing.
  3. Install piston using Brake Piston Wrench (49 FA18 602). Turn piston clockwise until piston is fully seated in caliper. Position piston after seating to ensure dowel on brake pad fits in piston stopper groove.
