Oil Pump: Inspection
- Measure outer gear-to-crescent clearance. Measure outer gear-to-housing clearance. Using a straightedge and feeler gauge, measure clearance between gears and pump cover. Measure lock-up control valve spring free length. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
- Temporarily reassemble oil pump and place on Oil Pump Centering Tool (ST-2559-001). See Fig 1 . Set pump cover within runout specifications and then torque bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Recheck runout. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table. Replace components as necessary.
