Direct Clutch: Disassembly

On N4A-EL, remove snap ring, side plate, one-way clutch assembly and retaining plate. See Fig 1 . All other models, remove snap ring and clutch pack from drum. See Fig 2 . Compress spring retainer and remove snap ring. Remove spring retainer and springs. Mount direct clutch drum on drum support. Apply air pressure to remove piston. See Fig 3 .
