Inspection (SOHC)

Using dial indicator, check camshaft end play. Check camshaft journals and bearings for wear. Check camshaft lobes for wear and damage. See CAMSHAFT  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. If any measurements are not within specifications, replace camshaft, thrust plate and/or cylinder head.
