Wheel Bearing: Removal

  1. Raise vehicle and support with safety stands. Remove wheel assembly. Remove grease cap and lock nut. On disc brake models, disconnect brake line from strut assembly (if necessary). Disconnect parking brake cable from caliper.
  2. Remove caliper assembly and hang out of way. Remove brake drum or rotor with washer and outer bearing. Remove oil seal and inner bearing. Drive out outer races from hub using brass bar (if necessary).
