Suspension - Electronic: Operation: Notes

The AAS system uses gas-charged shock absorbers incorporating a control rod and selector valve in the piston rod. An electric actuator is located on top of the control rod to change shock damping. The control rod is connected to a selector valve which adjusts damping by switching oil passages. The control unit is by-passed in manual or "NORMAL" mode.
