Fuel Gauge

  1. If fuel gauge is inoperative, check for blown fuse or damaged wiring. If fuel and temperature gauge are inoperative, inspect instrument voltage regulator.
  2. Disconnect wire to sending unit at fuel tank. Check resistance between connector and ground. See FUEL GAUGE RESISTANCE  table.
  3. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position. Allow 2 minutes for needle to stabilize, compare needle position with resistance values. SeeFig 1 . Allowable needle position variation is twice the width of the needle. If needle position and resistance do not agree, replace fuel gauge unit.
