626 Models

  1. Remove column cover and detach angle sensor connector. Place ohmmeter probes on terminals "B" and "C" on sensor side. See Figure .
  2. With steering wheel in the straight ahead position, 25,000 ohms should be read. As steering wheel is turned 180 degrees to the right, resistance should increase to 50,000 ohms.
  3. Ohmmeter probes should remain on terminals "B" and "C". Return steering wheel to the straight ahead position. Meter will again read 25,000 ohms. Turn steering wheel 180 degrees to the left. Resistance should decrease to 200 ohms.
  4. Position steering wheel in the straight ahead position. Connect ohmmeter probes to angle sensor terminals "A" and "C". Ohmmeter should read approximately 50,000 ohms. If angle sensor continuity is correct and malfunction still exists, proceed to ANGLE SENSOR CIRCUITRY  test.
