Suspension - Electronic: Operation: Notes

The AAS system uses gas-charged shock absorbers with a control rod and a selector valve built into the piston rod. An electric actuator is located on the upper end of the control rod to adjust shock damping. The control rod is connected to a selector valve that adjusts the setting by switching oil passages to alter damping. When system is operated manually, the switch by-passes the control unit, and selects the mode setting chosen.
