Removal & Inspection

  1. Remove cylinder head. Remove valve springs, valve stem seals and valves. Mark for proper reassembly. Measure valve guide bore and height. See VALVE GUIDE SPECIFICATIONS table.

    Application In. (mm)
    Valve Guide Bore: Intake & Exhaust .2760-.2768 (7.010-7.030)
    Installed Height .520-.543 (13.20-13.79)
  2. Measure valve stem diameter. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS table. Insert valve in corresponding guide and measure valve stem-to-valve guide clearance. If measurement exceeds limit, replace guide and or valve. Drive out guide from combustion chamber side of head.
